Bioinformatics

The NIAID Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology (OCICB) distributes bioinformatics software designed for and by NIAID investigators. Software includes tools for visualizing and analyzing complex genomic data. The applications are used by subject matter experts in the biological sciences at NIAID and are freely distributed to the broader scientific community for online use (Web applications) or for download (desktop applications).

In addition to bioinformatics applications, OCICB develops and hosts complex supplemental data at the request of NIAID investigators, including 3D visualizations of mosquito swarms and transcriptomes for insect vectors of infectious diseases.

OCICB is involved in a number of ongoing collaborations with NIAID and NIH investigators, many of which have resulted in publications. See a list of OCICB’s recent publications.
