NIAID Funding by Budget Mechanism: FY 2009 – FY 2010

NIAID awards its appropriated funds through a variety of biomedical research support mechanisms. The extramural research community receives support through research project grants (RPGs), research centers, training, and research and development (R&D) contracts. Intramural research and scientific management account for the remaining budget appropriation.
