Restructuring the NIAID Clinical Trials Networks
NIAID Town Hall Meetings and Workshops
In April 2012, NIAID issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) designed to solicit applications for the Clinical Trials Units (CTUs). To assist potential CTU applicants, NIAID hosted three grantsmanship workshops focused on the grant application and review process. The workshops were held July 28–29, 2012 in Washington, D.C., Aug. 16–18, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Oct. 25–27, 2012 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
March 7, 2011, Meeting
On March 7, 2011, NIAID hosted a public meeting in Bethesda, Maryland, to discuss the development of a non-HIV/AIDS Leadership Group focused on bacterial antibiotic resistance, with the ability to rapidly address emerging infectious diseases.
