Purpose
To identify award
types for different types of extramural activities, such as R01 for
a standard research
project grant or N01 for a contract.
Procedure
NIH publishes Activity
Codes, Organization Codes, and Definitions Used in Extramural Programs to
define types of grants, cooperative
agreements, and other awards ICs use
to support extramural research. Not all ICs support all activity
codes, and the ICs may use them differently.
