Key Points to Keep in Mind.

• NIAID will not accept K-series applications proposing to conduct new, independent clinical trials. For more information, read the March 28, 2008, Guide notice.
• If you're applying for a research supplement, you'll need to submit additional documentation. Read the Research Supplement program announcements for details.
• If your research involves select agents, see Biodefense and Biosecurity.
• If your research involves human subjects, see the NIAID Clinical Terms of Award.
• You must comply with NIH’s public access policy. This includes citing papers from NIH-funded research in your application for a training grant, fellowship, or career development grant. See the Public Access of Publications SOP for more information.
