About Us
The NIAID Office of Acquisitions (OA) supports the Institute's mission by providing a complete range of acquisition support services for conducting basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.
The OA is one of 10 NIH Consolidated Operations Acquisition Centers employing contracting and purchasing professionals with expertise in various types of acquisitions, from micro-purchases to multimillion-dollar negotiated contracts for complex station support and research and development (R&D) projects.
OA Mission
To improve public health in support of the NIAID mission through planning, soliciting, negotiating, awarding, and administering biomedical and behavioral R&D contracts, contracts in support of R&D, station support contracts, and simplified acquisitions.
OA Goals
