January 2014 DAIDS Council-Approved Concepts

Concepts represent early planning stages for program announcements, request for applications, or solicitations for Council's input. If NIAID publishes an initiative from one of these concepts, we link to it below. To find initiatives, go to the Opportunities and Announcements portal.

NB: Council approval does not guarantee that a concept will become an initiative.

Broad Agency Announcement

Contact: Eileen Webster-Cissel

Objective: There are no vaccine products proven to elicit defined anti-HIV immune effector functions in infected humans. This initiative will support product development to fill that gap and allow critical evaluation of therapeutic vaccine products or vectored anti-HIV antibodies.

Description: This initiative will support developing therapeutic vaccine products, manufacturing, IND-enabling work, immune-monitoring development work for a study, and early-phase 1 or 1 plus 2a clinical studies of the product.
