Standard Operating Procedure Table of Contents
Purpose
To obtain Council recommendations for applications with funding issues or concerns coming out of initial peer review.
Procedure
Before funding applications with special issues, NIAID must present them to Council and obtain its recommendations.
Applications include those with scientific review group concerns, e.g., human subject or animal concerns, as well as those requiring special funding actions, e.g., renewal R01 applications requesting more than 20 percent over the direct cost of the last noncompeting award.
