Standard Operating Procedure Table of Contents
Purpose
To ensure grantees and contractors use NIAID funds and conduct research appropriately.
Procedure
Inappropriate activities fall into four general categories: research misconduct, improper conduct, criminal offenses, and misuse of NIH grant and contract funds. For instructions on reporting improper actions on an NIH grant or contract, read the following SOPs:
If notified of inappropriate activities on a grant or contract, NIAID staff forward allegations to the appropriate officials and do not provide advice or guidance.

Grantees with questions should contact the grants management specialist or program officer listed in the eRA Commons.
Contractors with questions should ask the contracting officer for their award. See the solicitation or find the appropriate staff from the Office of Acquisitions staff listing.
