Security around a BSL-4 laboratory is tight. Only authorized personnel can pass through perimeter security.

Security measures typically include combinations of the following:

  • Perimeter fencing
  • Security guards
  • Closed-Circuit TV surveillance
  • Intrusion alarms
  • Nighttime security lighting
