AIDS Research Advisory Committee

The AIDS Research Advisory Committee (ARAC) meets three times a year to advise and make recommendations to the directors of NIAID and the Division of AIDS (DAIDS) in all areas of biomedical research on HIV/AIDS related to the mission of DAIDS. ARAC provides broad scientific, programmatic, and budgetary advice; reviews DAIDS progress and productivity; helps identify critical gaps in research; and reviews/approves all concepts for new initiatives.

AIDS Vaccine Research Subcommittee

The AIDS Vaccine Research Subcommittee (AVRS), formerly known as the AIDS Vaccine Research Working Group (AVRWG), assists the National Institutes of Health in developing a comprehensive research program aimed at expediting the discovery and development of an HIV/AIDS vaccine.
