NIAID Workshop: Prevention of Group A Strep Diseases and their Sequelae

A workshop to discuss the prevention of Group A streptococcal diseases and their sequelae with a focus on vaccine-related issues was held in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2004 with support from the National Vaccine Program Office and NIAID.

• Objectives: Review current approaches for prevention of streptococcal disease and sequelae. Identify gaps and opportunities that can be targeted to accelerate vaccine development.
