Whether you drive or metro to the NIH campus, you still have several choices to make that will affect the overall duration of your visit. If you are driving to the NIH, you have the option of having your car valet parked or to self-park in P1 Patient Parking. In either case, your parking ticket will be validated at the P1 parking level next to ADMISSIONS. If you decide to take the metro, the NIH CAMPUS Shuttle is available for your convenience. The shuttle service runs approximately every 10 minutes and will drop off at the Main Entrance of Bldg. 10 approximately 4 minutes after departure from the Metro. Should you decide to walk from the Metro, Bldg. 10 is a short 7-10 minute walk from the station. Please refer to the map of the NIH campus for directions. Directions to ADMISSIONS (1st Floor) PLEASE NOTE- You will only visit ADMISSIONS once, all subsequent visits will entail going straight to the 12th Floor.

From the P1 LEVEL PATIENT Parking
Upon entering Bldg. 10, you will be required to sign-in with the security staff. Please have a photo ID available and be prepared to go through a metal detector and bag search. The NIH visitor tag that you received must be worn at all times while inside the Clinical Research Center (Bldg. 10). Please understand that these security measures are for your protection as well as the NIH staff. Once you have been cleared for entrance you will go up one level to the 1st floor to ADMISSIONS that is located to the west side of the hall. Your landmark will be a fish tank. If you look at the signs posted overhead, you will see ADMISSIONS and arrows indicating the appropriate directions to walk. When you are finished, please wait until you receive your Medical Record, and then proceed to the Vaccine Research Center on the 12th floor (see directions below).

From the Main Entrance (Valet Parking or Shuttle Drop Off)
Upon entering Bldg. 10, you will be required to sign-in with the security staff. Please have a photo ID available and be prepared to go through a metal detector and bag search. The NIH visitor tag that you received must be worn at all times while inside the Clinical Research Center (Bldg. 10). Please understand that these security measures are for your protection as well as the NIH staff. Once you have been cleared for entrance you will continue straight down the open courtyard, past the central elevators and ADMISSIONS will be located to the right. Your landmark will be a fish tank. If you look at the signs posted overhead, you will see ADMISSIONS and arrows indicating the appropriate directions to walk. When you are finished, please wait until you receive your Medical Record, and then proceed to the Vaccine Research Center on the 12th floor (see directions below).

From the South Entrance
Go to the MAIN ELEVATORS, indicated on the map (follow the signs to the Masur Auditorium/South Lobby/Main Elevators). Take the elevator to the 12th floor. As you exit the elevator, you will see a blue sign overhead for the Vaccine Research Center (VRC). Enter the corridor through the door labeled "12 West". The entrance to the VRC clinic is at the end of this corridor. As you enter the clinic (through a glass door), you will see a blue sign overhead labeled "VRC Check-In". Please sign-in at the reception area and a VRC staff member will assist you.
