Biography
Dr. Matassoli received his Ph.D. in Microbiology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During his Ph.D. training he was also visiting fellow at University of California, Davis, from 2014 to 2015. He joined National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2019 to conduct his postdoctoral research on B cell immunology at the Vaccine Research Center (VRC) in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). In 2024, he was appointed Research Fellow of the Laboratory of Immunoregulation where he conducts studies on B cell dynamics, activation and evolution after an experimental LNP mRNA vaccine for HIV.
