The ACTG NL consists of Core Laboratory groups in immunology, pharmacology, virology and TB.

The Rutgers University Regional Biocontainment Laboratory is one of the NIAID-supported Biocontainment Laboratories. The RBL is a highly secure facility designed to provide an ultra-safe work environment for scientists and support staff, as well as the public at large.

The Tufts New England Regional Biosafety Laboratory (RBL) is one of the NIAID-supported Regional Biocontainment Laboratories. The RBL is a 41,000 square foot resource available to researchers in industry, academia, government and not-for-profit, dedicated to the study of existing and emerging infectious diseases, toxin-mediated diseases and medical countermeasures important to biodefense.

The Tulane University Regional Biosafety Laboratory (RBL) at The Tulane National Primate Research Center is one of the NIAID-supported Biocontainment Laboratories.

The regional biocontainment laboratory at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), called Southeastern Biosafety Laboratory Alabama Birmingham (SEBLAB), is one of the NIAID-supported Biocontainment Laboratories. The Lab houses state-of-the art biosafety level 2 and level 3 laboratories as well as animal biosafety level 3 laboratories.

The University of Chicago Howard T. Ricketts Laboratory (HTRL) is one of the NIAID-supported Biocontainment Laboratories.  The HTRL is a state of the art BSL-3 facility constructed to support research on bacterial and viral pathogens.

The University of Pittsburgh Regional Biocontainment Laboratory is one of the NIAID-supported Biocontainment Laboratories.

The University of Tennessee Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL) is one of the NIAID-supported Biocontainment Laboratories. The RBL provides a secure lab for conducting research on Category A and B infectious pathogens using state-of-the-art molecular pathogenesis and immunologic approaches.

The Bioinformatics and Computational Biosciences Branch (BCBB) offers a suite of scientific services and resources for the NIAID research community and its collaborators. BCBB provides expertise and computational solutions to researchers at all levels of experience.

The ChemDB database contains information extracted from scientific literature on the structure and activity of compounds that have been tested against HIV, opportunistic pathogens and TB. This database is continually updated with information extracted from published literature, including the chemical structure and biological activity of compounds.

FLUTE is a Functional Genomics Center funded by NIAID, with the goal of discovering the roles of genes from Mtb with previously unknown functions. In addition FLUTE aims to establish an efficient pathway for identifying gene function that could serve as a paradigm for other bacterial species.

The GCID use and develop or improve innovative applications of genomic technologies, such as RNA sequencing and metagenomics, and provide rapid and cost-efficient production of high-quality genome sequences of microorganisms, invertebrate vectors of infectious diseases, and hosts and host microbiomes. Multiple strains and isolates of specific microbial species, populations and communities have been and continue to be sequenced.

This service provides chemical synthesis of lead compounds for use in additional drug development studies. Compounds must previously have been successfully synthesized to be candidates for this service. Synthesis of new analogs is not supported.

The HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) offers two scholarship programs for early-career investigators funded through a supplement from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The HPTN Scholars Program now includes two components: a domestic (U.S.) program and an international program.

The ICSSC provides a wide range of support services to clinical investigators who are conducting international research funded by the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID), including consultation and assistance to investigators for protocol development, site assessment, data management, case report form (CRF) development, biostatistics and trainings.
