“In achieving our mission to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases, NIAID is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce and workplace for all staff, funding an extramural research portfolio inclusive of the diverse populations it serves, and prioritizing health equity in all research that NIAID conducts and supports.

The most important asset of this Institute is the people who, at all levels of the organization, contribute to our collective successes in achieving the NIAID mission for the benefit of the public health. A workforce and culture that embraces diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility better equips NIAID to meet its mission. The entire NIAID leadership team and I are committed to integrating and strengthening diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across all activities to achieve the NIAID mission.”
