About the VRC 312 Clinical Trial
There are no vaccines to prevent malaria. It is a disease that threatens nearly half of the world’s population. The purpose of this research study is to test the safety of an experimental vaccine, called PfSPZ Vaccine. We will also be studying whether or not the vaccine can prevent malaria.

Who can participate in this research?
Healthy adults between 18 and 45 years of age may be eligible to participate in this study.
What does the study involve?
Volunteers are screened with a physical exam, medical history, and blood tests. There are five different groups in the study. Follow-up may last between 12 and 52 weeks, depending upon the group.
Where is study enrollment taking place?
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The NIH campus is accessible by car and public transportation.
Will I receive payment?
You will be compensated for your participation in the study.
