To enhance the health of children for generations to come, NIH launched the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program in 2016. The ECHO Program supports multiple, synergistic longitudinal studies of mothers and their children and continues to extend and expand existing cohort studies to determine the factors that influence health outcomes in children, from conception to early childhood.

In August, NIH published seven funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) to expand and strengthen the ECHO Program:

Title and Notice Number Activity Code
ECHO Laboratory Core (RFA-OD-22-016) U24, Clinical Trial Not Allowed
ECHO Pregnancy Cohort Study Sites (RFA-OD-22-017) UG3/UH3, Clinical Trial Not Allowed
ECHO Pregnancy and Pediatric Cohort Study Sites (RFA-OD-22-018) UG3/UH3, Clinical Trial Not Allowed
ECHO Cohort Study Sites for Pediatric Follow Up (Limited Competition) (RFA-OD-22-019) UG3/UH3, Clinical Trial Not Allowed
ECHO Measurement Core (RFA-OD-22-020) U24, Clinical Trial Not Allowed
