NIAID and CDC are hosting a virtual workshop meant to define the U.S. and global burden and epidemiology of herpes simplex virus (HSV), and then identify gaps and research opportunities in vaccines, therapeutics, prevention, and diagnostics development. We expect the session topics will be of interest to academia, nongovernmental organizations, industry, other government agencies, and the public health community.

The event will take place on November 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time and November 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern Time. To register for the workshop and review the meeting agenda, go to NIAID/CDC Joint Workshop on Genital Herpes. For general information about NIAID-supported resources and research on HSV and other sexually transmitted infections, go to Sexually Transmitted Diseases—Information for Researchers.
