NIAID has refreshed its Data Science website to more clearly convey its interest and activities in Data Science to the community, both intramurally and extramurally. The refreshed website aims to inform researchers, students, and the community at large and will help foster a transdisciplinary community of biomedical, clinical, behavioral, and computational scientists working to accelerate research in the NIAID mission area with data science approaches.

The Funding section features current funding opportunity announcements that support new data science research, training, and technology development in infectious and immune-mediated disease fields, e.g., Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Secondary Analysis of Existing Datasets for Advancing Immune-mediated and Infectious Disease Research. You’ll also find projects that NIAID has awarded related to data science and the Institute's mission areas.

The section on Data Policy and Guidance will inform those seeking information on NIH’s Data Management and Sharing (DMS) policy and other data-related policies, such as the Genomic Data Sharing Policy. In addition to information on data policy and guidance, the site includes Career and Training information, such as the NIAID Emerging Leaders in Data Sciences Fellowship Program, data science News and Events, and Data and Tools for data science approaches in infectious and immune-mediated disease research.

We encourage you to explore the website to follow NIAID Data Science activities and interests. Updating of the site will continue in the months to come with additional content from across NIAID Divisions and Offices. Check in regularly!
