Transdisciplinary collaboration is critical to harnessing the power of data so that it can be used to rapidly transform the research landscape and advance science. Traditional research silos—which isolate laboratories, scholars, and research centers from one another—stymie essential partnerships that could otherwise bring together expertise, insights, and data to more rapidly and effectively address challenging research questions. Fortunately, opportunities exist to break the data silos that challenge immune-mediated and infectious disease research and can be leveraged to foster rapid data sharing and broader collaboration.
You can register now for the webinar Breaking the Silos: Opportunities and Challenges of Harnessing the Power of Data To Advance Immune-Mediated and Infectious Disease Research on Friday, May 14, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. During the webinar, our expert panel will define the traditional silos that may impede broad data sharing and highlight examples of where breaking those silos facilitated advancement that otherwise could not have been achieved.
The overall webinar series will serve as a platform for collaborating, generating ideas, and networking among participants and provide foundational materials to inform the prospective role of data science in advancing NIAID’s mission. Participants will have the opportunity to share insights on the current landscape of data science research and development, as well as offer ideas to shape the future of data-driven immune-mediated and infectious diseases research using our crowd-source platform NIAID Data Science.
