Don’t miss the 2021 NIH Rural Health Day Seminar: Structural-Level Determinants of Rural Health Disparities on November 18, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time, which will be held online through NIH VideoCast. NIAID is co-sponsoring the event alongside other NIH institutes and centers (ICs). Attendance is free. To register, go to 2021 NIH Rural Health Day Seminar.

The event is organized around three tracks where speakers will discuss the following:

  • Sociocultural and economic determinants of health in rural populations
  • Physical environmental determinants of health in rural populations
  • Evaluation, measurements, and policy implications on rural health

The Seminar is organized by the NIH Rural Health Special Interest Group (RHSIG), a collection of scientists from NIH ICs working to raise awareness of rural health issues and enhance biomedical, behavioral/social science, intervention, and implementation research to improve rural health outcomes.

The RHSIG’s goals are to understand health disparities in rural communities through research and optimize implementation and prevention strategies to address these disparities.
