Have you received an NIH mentored career development award or are you a first-time recipient of an NIH research project grant? If so, you might be interested in applying to one of the following notices of special interest:
- Notice of Special Interest: Administrative Supplements To Promote Research Continuity and Retention of NIH Mentored Career Development (K) Award Recipients and Scholars
- Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Administrative Supplement for Continuity of Biomedical and Behavioral Research Among First-Time Recipients of NIH Research Project Grant Awards
Through the NOSIs, you can apply for administrative supplements to help sustain your research during critical life events, e.g., childbirth, adoption. Keep in mind a few important points that the NOSIs have in common; for example, the life event must occur during the project period of the grant, projects in a no-cost extension period are not eligible, and you can request direct costs of up to $50,000. You can also request an award period of up to 12 months.
