Have you received an NIH mentored career development award or are you a first-time recipient of an NIH research project grant? If so, you might be interested in applying to one of the following notices of special interest:

Through the NOSIs, you can apply for administrative supplements to help sustain your research during critical life events, e.g., childbirth, adoption. Keep in mind a few important points that the NOSIs have in common; for example, the life event must occur during the project period of the grant, projects in a no-cost extension period are not eligible, and you can request direct costs of up to $50,000. You can also request an award period of up to 12 months.
