Good news, NIAID just posted two new high-scoring, successful Sample Grant Applications and summary statements as teaching examples for the community.

On behalf of the applicant community and NIAID, we offer sincere gratitude to the grantees and principal investigators who generously agreed to share the following small business innovation research (SBIR) Phase I (R43) and cooperative agreement (U01) summary statements and full applications:

PI and Grantee Institution Application Resources

Summary Statement

Summary Statement

These well-written examples may give you ideas for how you could effectively present your Specific Aims, Research Strategy, and other text sections.

That said, be aware that these applications reflect the older Forms-E version of the SF 424 and instructions. Do not use them as a model for how to complete forms or assume they reflect all required elements. Your application must follow the appropriate instructions in your opportunity announcement and the latest NIH SF 424 Application Guide.
