Biography

As Head of Antibody Research in the Virology Core, Dr. Pegu leads and manages a group of scientists that are involved in developing antibody-based therapies for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases caused by HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2, Ebola virus and other pathogens. He oversees preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies for the characterization of these novel antibody-based reagents and helps in their down selection for clinical development by the VRC. In addition, he has been involved in extensive collaborations with partners from both academia and industry to develop antibody-based therapies.
