Biography
My research focuses on understanding Borrelia burgdorferi's biology and pathogenicity. I am investigating its lipid requirements, characterizing a protein with D-Ala-D-Ala carboxypeptidase activity involved in peptidoglycan remodeling, and studying structural changes in Borrelia morphology using amino acid and peptide transport mutants. Additionally, I am exploring comparative spirochete nutritional acquisition.
