Biography
Dr. Daniel Blanco-Melo is an Assistant Professor in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He earned his B.S. from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and his Ph.D. from Rockefeller University. Following his doctoral studies, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Blanco-Melo's research focuses on characterizing modern and ancient viral infections, understand the evolution of our antiviral immune responses, and enable the design of broadly acting therapeutics against current and emerging viral threats.
