Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
Project Title: High-Spatial-Resolution Multi-Omics Sequencing of Brain Lesions in Multiple Sclerosis
Award Year: 2023

Biography
Dr. Yanxiang Deng earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he developed microfluidic platforms for high-throughput single-cell mechanotyping and intracellular delivery. He then completed postdoctoral training in Biomedical Engineering at Yale University, focusing on novel technologies for spatially resolved omics profiling. In 2023, Yanxiang joined the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor. His laboratory develops cutting-edge tools integrating microchip engineering, microscopy, genomics, and computational analysis to spatially profile genome, epigenome, transcriptome, and proteome within tissues and cells. These technologies significantly enhance our understanding of tissue complexity and uncover critical features of tissue architecture in health and disease.
