Project Title: Shifting Immunodominance of Humoral Immunity Against Influenza Viruses
Award Year: 2023

Biography
Dr. Jenna Guthmiller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Jenna received her Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centers and completed postdoctoral training in immunology and virology at the University of Chicago. Jenna’s laboratory studies how broadly protective humoral immunity against rapidly evolving pathogens, including influenza viruses, develops and can be harnessed by next-generation vaccines. Her funded DP2 project investigates how tailoring vaccine composition can preferentially drive antibody responses against portions of influenza viruses that cannot mutate, and thereby drive broadly protective immunity against seasonal and pandemic-threat influenza viruses. Jenna has received numerous awards and accolades, including those from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the American Society for Virology, the Antibody Society, the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, and the American Association of Immunologists.
