Biography

Dr. Hualiang earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology with John Helmann at Cornell University and completed her postdoctoral training with Eric Skaar at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 2023, she launched her lab at Yale University in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and the Microbial Sciences Institute. Her group uses an interdisciplinary approach, combining genetics, biochemistry, structural biology, advanced imaging, and animal models to explore the dynamic interactions between pathogens, gut microbiota, and the host.
