Project Title: Exploiting the Microbiota-Stromal Cell Axis for Microbiota-Targeted Medicine
Award Year: 2024

Biography
Dr. Meng Wu is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Microbiology at Washington University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the interplay among microbiota, stromal cells, and the immune system in health and disease. She earned her Ph.D. in Human and Statistical Genetics under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Gordon at Washington University in St. Louis, where she studied gut microbiota using microbial genetics, genomics, and statistical methods. She then completed postdoctoral training with Dr. Dennis Kasper in the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School, investigating the local complement system in the gut and its interactions with microbiota. Her lab aims to leverage microbiota-stromal cell interactions to enhance immune responses and develop microbiota-targeted therapies.
