Notice of Special Interest (NOSI)—Administrative Supplement for Collaborative Projects Supported by the NIAID/RNCP

The purpose of this Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) is to highlight NIAIDs interest in supporting research aimed at fostering collaborations between researchers throughout the NIAID/Radiation and Nuclear Countermeasures Program (RNCP)-funded grant and cooperative agreement portfolio (e.g., U01, U19, R21, R01, P01). The NIAID/RNCP has been tasked with developing safe and effective medical countermeasures (MCMs) and biodosimetry tools for civilians that can be used at least 24 hours post-exposure in a radiological or nuclear public health emergency.

Diagnostics Development Services

NIAID’s Diagnostics Development Services program offers reagents, platform testing, and planning and design support to accelerate product development of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) for infectious diseases, from research feasibility through clinical validation.

Iterative Bleaching Extends Multiplexity (IBEX) Knowledge-Base

The IBEX Imaging Community is an international group of scientists committed to sharing information on multiplexed imaging in a transparent and collaborative manner. This open, global repository is a central resource for reagents, protocols, panels, publications, software, and datasets.

SBIR/STTR Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) Program Technical Assistance and Late Stage Development (SB1, Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to encourage applications from small business concerns (SBCs) to the newly re-authorized Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) program. The NOFO aims to facilitate the transition of previously or currently funded SBIR and STTR Phase II and Phase IIB projects to the commercialization stage by providing additional support for technical assistance and later stage research and development (R and D) not typically supported through Phase II or Phase IIB grants or contracts.

Genomic Research Integration System (GRIS)

The Genomic Research Integration System (GRIS) Portal provides meaningful collaborative analysis of integrated clinical, family, and genomic data generated from the Clinical Genomics Program and its collaborators’ studies. GRIS streamlines data management for experimental analysis, validation, and reporting workflows to improve productivity, standardization, data integrity, data sharing, and reproducibility.

NIAID Stats Calculator

The NIAID Stats Calculator application is provided by the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Branch to allow users to perform quick sanity checks when exploring experimental results data.

Hedwig

Hedwig is the major Electron Microscopy image repository in NIAID. Researchers can submit projects, process images, explore light microscopy data, and view and download their images and movies. Hedwig can also be used to run and manage a microscopy service lab.

Project NextGen

NIAID is interested in working with vaccine developers with next generation SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidates that will soon be ready to enter clinical trials. Next generation vaccines include those with enhanced breadth of protection to variants, improved durability, and those with an enhanced ability to block infection/transmission including mucosal vaccines, relative to currently approved vaccines. NIAID is particularly interested in novel vaccine candidates currently at a development stage ready to enter clinical trials or capable of entering clinical trials by mid-2024.
