The Intramural Clinical Management and Operations Branch (ICMOB)

  1. Provides oversight of clinical research and all related clinical operations for the Laboratory of Immunoregulation, Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Microbiology, Laboratory of Clinical Investigation, Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, and Laboratory of Allergic Diseases
  2. Provides oversight of
    • Inpatient units and outpatient clinics in concert with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center
    • Clinical protocol review and approval including assurance of scientific quality
    • Quality of care delivered to NIAID patients and the quality of professional performance of NIAID healthcare providers for the intramural patient population
    • Continuing medical education
    • Graduate physician training in allergy, immunology, and infectious diseases

Mission Statement

The Intramural Clinical Management and Operations Branch (ICMOB) focused mission within the Division of Clinical Research is to facilitate efficient and effective clinical operations and research by providing assistance, expert guidance, resources, and issue resolution in support of the NIAID clinical research programs and the NIH Clinical Center.

ICMOB directly supports the Division of Clinical Research in its pursuit of clinical research excellence by

  • Collaborating with the Clinical Center to provide excellence in clinical research operations to NIAID researchers
  • Assuring optimal use of NIH resources and compliance to regulations
  • Facilitating training and developmental opportunities for the next generation of medical researchers
